Description: 1823 Four Spanish Dollars Promissory Note, Lempriere and Compy, Van Diemens Land, Hobart Town 25-7-1823, No. U 43 (MVR p92). Single-sided in orange on plain thin paper by S. Clayton Sydney, entered by C. Boucher and hand signed by Lempriere and Co, with -EXHIBITED 6 (illegible) ROFS- written vertically on front in ink. Frail edges with part note missing top and bottom right, many tears, small holes and significant foxing. Ex Nobles Sale 71 Nov 2002 (lot 2848). Rare.   VG
