Description: Ancient Greece Kingdom of Syria AR Tetradrachm Cleopatra Thea and Antiochus VIII (125-121 B.C.). Ake-Ptolemais mint, dated by Newell to 125 BC. (cf.S.7135, SC 2271.1, LSM 8, cf.Houghton 722 var., Newell 8 [Pl.II, ANS NNM 84], HGC 9, 1182g). Obverse: conjoined heads to right, Cleopatra veiled and diademed and her son Anthiochus VIII, filleted border. Reverse: Zeus Nikephoros enthroned holding Nike and sceptre, to right [BAS]ILIS[SHS] / KLEOPATRAS / QEAS in left field KAI / BASILEWS / ANTIOCOU, U/S monogram in left field.
